Another trick when using cash back credit cards is to use a particular credit card that pays a higher cash back percent on certain purchases in any given month. For example, the Discover Card recently offered 5% cash back on gasoline purchases from January through March of this year, whereas some other cards were only offering 1% or 2%.

Another cash back card is American Express' Blue Cash Everyday. For groceries you can earn 3% cash back, for gas 2% and for everything else 1%. There are no annual fees.

I am a fan of the discover card, discover.com. During certain months, I get 5% cash back on certain purchases and 1% on all other purchases. For example from January through March of this year, I received 5% cash back for purchases made at gas stations. For on-line purchases, you can received a higher percentage of cash back for certain purchases.
